Collect safety belts from junk yard cars, planes, car seats, and any vehicles headed
to a landfill

Reuse as:

1. Guitar straps
2. Hand made purse
3. Beusable bag straps
4. Belts for men and woman
5. Hang a picture
6. Luggage strap - add velcro
7. In the garden for vines to climb
8. Add many large holes in a row (like a belt) - hang lengthwise for scraves, hand towels & more
9. Trim a skirt at the base, around the waste
10. Trim a pair of pants or jeans - bottom cuff, up the sides, on the pockets
11. Large dog leash
12. Large dog collar - make both leash and collar
13. Hang Plants by adding hook and holes
14. Travel Blanket strap
15. Weave together to create a purse, bag and reusable bag

* Purchasing Paper Products- look for recycled and/or post consumer Paper products like Paper towels, Printer paper, post-it notes, notebooks and so much more ? remember your reusable bag
* Use/shop Eco Friendly Businesses- Dry Cleaners, Restaurants, Retail stores, and market/grocery stores even your home/office cleaning services-recycle hangers, bring your own to go containers, reusable bags
*Purchase items made from reclaimed materials like sneakers, yoga mats, clothes and many other items
* Turn it off, Unplug it & use power strips/master switches ? teach children and it will come naturally for them in the future
* Purchase Local & Organic whenever possible, support your local farmers, farm stands, farmers markets & look for pick your own. Leave the plastic bags there and use reusable bags
*Set up a recycle center in your home/office ? all in one or separate- glass, cans, plastic, paper. Keep a separate collection of hazards- batteries, paints, chemicals bring these periodically to a hazard collection center
*Traveling ? look for Eco Friendly places to stay- Eco Villages, Eco Lodges, Eco Hotels ? you will feel better & support an Eco Business
* Teach another person all of these and more

-Recycle simply- all glass, Cans, plastics and paper:

1. Glass: rinse by adding a bit of water recover gently shake remove cover and place in recycle bin-cover off. 2. Plastics: same, rinse, place in recycle bin, bag plastic caps separately, Always remove Caps, covers, lids they will not recycle if cover is on!! Remove cap from cartons too. Recycle deodorant stick by remove contents & place in bin. Prescription bottles ?most are recyclable remove covers. http://www.thestarfishproject.org/ may still be accepting expired prescriptions.

B. Caps from bottles can be collected for months, check with your local recycle company to see if they are accepting caps yet. Also Aveda is accepting all caps from their products. Bring to your Aveda Salon.

3. Paper: shred all personal docs, charge card application received in mail, tear name off all labels and shred/cut many times with scissors, (avoid Identity thief) Books & Magazines can be given to thrift stores, library, schools, nursing homes, You can even start your own book swap once a month. If you choose to recycle remove all inserts that may have glue or a sticky edge. All spiral note books are recyclable.






4. Cans: rinse, remove tabs (bag separately for months) place in bin. Aerosol cans may be accepted empty and remove caps (great for peg games) toothpaste tubes are acceptable. Tabs can be mailed or dropped off at Ronald McDonald homes across the country.
-Most Recycle companies approve of Blue clear bag for all recyclable items, bag up and place out on recycle day.

Things you should know about Recycling:

1. Cell phones, PDAs, all Electronics, motor vehicles, machines are recyclable. Call your local center and they will direct you. Apple will recycle all Apple products for you. Craigslist & Freecycle may work for you-be smart when meeting with unknown persons.




2. Paints, chemicals, poisons check Crud Cruiser or www.earth911.org
3. CFL Light Bulbs can be recycled at local Lowes, Home Depot, Ikea and a few others.

4. All Eyeglasses, Shoes and Clothing can be donated to shelters, second hand stores and sneakers can be dropped off at your local Nike stores for recycling. Lions Club worldwide and Target Optical is accepting eyeglasses. Another World Wide recycler of eyeglasses http://www.onesight.org/
5. Printer ink cartridges can be dropped off at Office Depot for Credit towards replacement. HP accept them by mail. Some offices offer drop off bins. You can also have them refilled.
6. Are you a teacher? lots of juice bags at your school? Earn $ for them: http://www.terracycle.net/brigades/ Cookie Wrappers, pouch Brigade and Frito Lay chip bags. Also Energy Bar Wrappers, Ritz chips bags, Kashi wrapper/bags, Bare Naked bags, are all being collected start you project with the new school year.





7. Ask your town office about local recycling they can direct you.
8. If you have a compost shredded papers, fruit & veggie peelings, small yard clippings, for more view compostable items online.

recycling program. Contact your local spa.













The pull tabs on all cans can help raise funds

for the Ronald McDonald Houses across the US

most will accept by mail or in a drop box available

outside the front entrance.


You can also create purses and bags with tabs.

Do you eat bread, bagel even produce from a bag? Recycle The Bag:)

I collect all the plastics from items like bread, bagels, newspapers, and recycle them. Its so easy. use the bread bag to stuff all the others in, daily.

every day we have items that come in plastics, they are usually just thrown out however you can collect the plastics in one bag and recycle all of them.

Junk Mail

There are several things you can about junk mail.
1. opt out mailing lists you can find these online.
2. shred and recycle
3. shred and put in your compost bin
4. visit your local post office and as to opt out. there are a few PO addressing this.
5. look for the deliverer address on the junk and email, write or call directly and ask to be removed.
